What to Expect
When you call for an appointment it will be your choice if you want to speak at length on the phone, via the internet or do a screening in person. Everyone’s comfort level is different. Most of my work has been via the internet since moving to British Columbia. I can work with you from anywhere there is a private connection. That first discussion is to find out whether my skills match your need.
I am not an ADD/ADHD specialist and I strongly believe that that is what is required. Likewise, I am not the person to work with anyone who is actively violent or actively abusing substances. In fact, for the Repair Therapy to work the person would need to reduce substance use.
Let me know what pronouns to use in speaking about yourself and all family members. I will try my best but please bear with me if I stumble.
It’s important for me to know what has worked to help you and your family change in the past and what your beliefs and values are about therapy.
When we do meet in person I use a comfortable room in my home in Gibsons. There is a teenager in the house as well as a dog so the noise of human life may be heard – but privacy is assured.
